Tupuranga Maori Club Seniors (from 14yrs). Tupuranga was formed in 1998 under the name Te Tupu o te Kakano and in 2000 changed to TUPURANGA.
Tupuranga is based in the western suburbs of Sydney {Blacktown and Mt Druitt} for the rangatahi and whanaus based in the area. As the years passed not only did the performers come from the Western Suburbs but also from the Wollongong, Camberra, the City and Manly areas, and also in the group we never had just Maori people we love to teach anyone who is interested in our culture we had Koori's Ozzies English and many other nationalities.
Tupuranga is based on having Fun learning and meeting new people.

Our group Te Roopu Ataawhai nurtures folklore, customs song, dance language, arts and craft. The group was formed to provide initiatives and continuity within family and community groups to maintain Maori cultural interests.
