Nga Maia is the national organisation representing Maori birthing. The kaupapa of Nga Maia focuses on Mama, Pepi and Whanau and promoting Matauranga Maori in pregnancy and childbirth.

Nga Maia members include Midwives, Students, Educators and Whanau. Nga Maia continually promotes its membership and encourages inter-generational participation by the involvement of kaumatua and tamariki at Nga Maia hui.
