Matakite Productions Ltd. (matakite) began its vision at the turn of the century. matakite is a home based whānau (family) consulting, research, design, production and publishing company developing blueprints for bilingual resilience tools and resources with a focus on print media. We believe great communities are no accident, they are born out of natural strength and beauty and have a deep respect for ecology, uniqueness, life stories, culture and diversity. They are inspired by the vision of residents drawn to them. They are brought to maturity through hard work and investment and they survive because of these principles. In a sense they achieve harmony, such harmony is at the heart of matakite. To develop knowledge, growth and understanding of living language and systems through quality tools and resources that support and enhance social, cultural, environmental and economic prosperity and well-being.

I have been studying Te Reo intermittently since 1997. This site is based on work I completed while studying evening classes of Te Reo (Maori Language) at school certificate level at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa or Hagley Community College in 1998. Additional information on this site is based on a two day workshop I attended on the Treaty of Waitangi, presented by Network Waitangi Otautahi, also in 1998.
