Welcome to the New Zealand Electronic Text Centre’s free online archive of New Zealand and Pacific Islands texts and heritage materials, which offers an ever expanding, fully searchable, set of images and full-text books, manuscripts and journals.

MDRC is a virtual organisation for Maori development companies, organisations, facilitators, practitioners, consultants, researchers, scholars and students. It provides timely, regularly updated information, resources and research about Maori development. MDRC is one of the few authentic, Maori-owned Centres of Research and the only one to operate as a virtual organisation.

Mauri Ora Productions Limited has been in operation since 1999. Based in the tribal boundaries of Ngati Porou on the East Coast, the company is committed to producing quality television programmes for broadcast on the Maori Television Service and mainstream networks.

Maui Productions and Cardno TV Ltd is a TV production house, based in the tourist mecca of Rotorua with more than 20 years experience in delivering quality, credible television programming as well as a variety of services to our corporate clients.

Mataku is an anthology of contemporary one-off dramas, adapted from the unique and mystical world of Maori supernatural legends. In these tales of the unexpected, set in New Zealand, ordinary characters encounter mysterious phenomena of Maori mythology. Each of the programmes is introduced by internationally-recognised television and film actor, Temuera Morrison.

More than 90% of our schedule is locally-made programming. From comedy, sports, documentaries and lifestyle to news and current affairs, tune in for great New Zealand viewing. All ages, all people, two languages. Maori Television is bilingual! Programmes are in both Maori and English, they’re subtitled and there’s plenty for you to enjoy. The niupepa collection consists of over 17,000 pages taken from 34 separate periodicals. It is based on "Niupepa 1842-1933", a microfiche collection produced by the Alexander Turnbull Library. 70% of the collection is written solely in Maori, 27% is bilingual and about 3% is written in English. There were three main types of niupepa published; government sponsored, Maori initiated, and religious.

The Inaugural Maori Music Awards is a new initiative that seeks to develop, encourage and honour the achievements of outstanding traditional and contemporary musical compositions and performances annually.
