Willowbank Wildlife Reserve in Christchurch is one of the top New Zealand visitor attractions where you will experience New Zealand wildlife first hand and learn about the diversity of this country's natural environment and history.

Create your very own bone carving in three hours or less using simple hand tools. No experience is required to make a unique carving that will surpass most souvenirs that you can buy at a craft market or shop. All you need to bring is your imagination: choose from a range of contemporary designs or create your own original design. You will have fun and learn a new skill whilst making something beautiful for yourself or someone close to you.

The Marae offers a chance for tourists, school groups and local people to experience Maori culture in an attraction that is unique to Christchurch and the South Island. The Marae provides daily tours for school groups and tourists. The Marae employs up to thirty people as guides, teachers, and caterers, and as part of its highly successful cultural group, to educate visitors in all aspects of traditional Maori customs and history. The Marae itself features two of New Zealand's most spectacularly carved whare, or meeting houses, Aoraki and the Whare Wananga developed by hundreds of inexperienced trainee carvers.

Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu opened on 10 May, 2003 in the heart of the city's cultural precinct, bounded by Worcester Boulevard, Gloucester and Montreal Streets. The new facility features two floors of exhibition space, two educational activity areas, an auditorium, a café and wine bar, two retail outlets, a Sculpture Garden and underground parking.
