Te Kakano O Te Atua (Seed of God). A Kapahaka Roopu in Western Sydney. Founded in 2005, made up of young to old, very lively, friendly, committed and disciplined roopu. Very whanau orientated, loving, caring, always up for a good laugh, but love to perform and share our maori culture along with a positive message. Most recent performances include performing on behalf of Michael Campbell, haka and powhiri for International Sporting and Music artists, weddings, celebrations, birthdays, sporting events, music events, festivals and fairs. Give us a call for performance or to join our roopu.

We provide contemporary Māori costumes (kakahu) from early-childhood up to adult sizes. We combine the traditional Māori Taniko method of weaving with the durability of modern materials.

Our costume range currently consists of: Piupiu (skirt), Pari me piupiu, Panekoti (bodice with skirt), Korowai (cloak), Tipare (headband), Rakau (Māori stick game) and Poi.

All our products are hand-made in Aotearoa (N.Z.)

Hohua has been extremely privileged to be trained by expert Ta Moko artist and Tohunga Whakairo Gordon Toi Hatfield, whose skills in the Medium of Ta Moko are world renown. He has been an integral part of Hohua's journey and has mentored him throughout his Moko career. Hohua has sat along side many tohunga Ta Moko and has also been a part of various Moko Wananga throughout Aotearoa. He lives by the belief that every experience is a learning experience. From his constant pursuing and study of Moko and its various elements he has acquired a diverse range of patterns, pattern meanings and tribal styles which are clearly evident in his Moko.
