The cdkiwi is here to promote New Zealand music and help independent artists and small labels sell their music to the world!. A lot of the cd's you can buy here are unobtainable at the usual retail outlets. We have endeavoured to make this music cd site easy to browse and sample. At cdkiwi.co.nz you do not have to open a unique account just to buy one cd. If you wish to sell your cd on this site, please visit our submission area. Note at this time we can only list recordings from New Zealand and the Pacific region.

WHO? Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti is a separate and distinct traditional iwi on the East Coast of Aotearoa. Our iwi derived it's traditional mana status and mana rohe through well known and widely documented BATTLES of our tipuna HAUITI. Centred in Uawa / Tolaga Bay the tribal boundaries of our ancestral rohe lie between, "Tawhiti-a-Pawa ki Toka Taiau i te awa o Turanganui" (see "Wlliams J.A. Politics of the New Zealand Maori, protest and Co-operation 1891 - 1909", 1969, pg. 53). Geographically, from Tokomaru Bay to Ka-iti in Gisborne. WHAT? Today, whanau of Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti have organised around a growing group of supporters that continues to gain wide and knowledgeable recognition from around the motu. Our organisation is striving to gain recognition of our traditional iwi rights - primarily before 'state mechanisms' - based, on our documented ancestral history, distinct whakapapa and whenua interests. CURRENTLY? It is a major focus of our Iwi organisation to call our whanau from around the motu - who affiliate to Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti to voice and add their support to the efforts of whanau at home. ESTABLISHED in Perth, WA in July 2009, Manawa Mai Tawhiti is a traditional Māori Performing Arts club. The retention of traditional Māori language and customs is heavily influenced by music, dance and lyrics. This provides a focal and essential community service to New Zealanders who call Perth and the wider Western Australian community, home.

OUR name Manawa Mai Tawhiti means “Yearning from afar”. This name derives from a collective yearning for all things that are home (NZ), and that although we live and work in Perth and wider Western Australian community, it is vitally important to retain and maintain cultural essence away from NZ, whilst respecting other cultures and peoples. WE acknowledge the traditional custodians on the lands where we are based, the Nyungar Aboriginal People – Elders, both past and present, and pay our respects to them as fellow First Nations people.

See our website for more information.

Kia ora tātou.
