By linking together three Iwi who share history and alliances, Kurahaupo creates powerful momentum for the negotiation of our Treaty of Waitangi settlement, and establishes a foundation on which to build a strong future for Ngati Apa, Ngati Kuia and Rangitane.

Te Ngutu Kura free Maori Spell Checker was conceived by Karaitiana Taiuru. The concept was made a reality by the Maori Education Trust who sponsored the development of Te Ngutu Kura and this web site. The Maori Education Trust have sponsored the free distribution of Te Ngutu Kura for the past five years and will continue to do so for at least the next 1 year ending in 2007.

An entity called Te Runanga o Turanganui a Kiwa was registered in 1986 to be the mandated iwi authority for the tribes of Turanganui a Kiwa. The Runanga was charged with supporting the iwi, hapu and whanau of Turanganui a Kiwa toward "tino rangatiratanga".
